The Environment and the Earth class at the University of South Carolina participated in a campus environmental service-learning project where students collected data lighting, water fixtures, recycling bins, and trash in five academic buildings.

This workshop bridges the concepts of equity (broadly conceived) and accessibility, treating them as related and intersecting. Its intention is to increase our collective and individual capacity to become more equity and accessibility-minded educators: especially in the online classroom, where existing inequity and a lack of accessibility can sometimes be magnified, but which is also a place that can offer new forms of engagement and connection.

Welcome to our faculty resource page. We often assign research projects but don’t always have the time to devote to these skills in class. This tutorial is designed to help both faculty and students through the process, from developing a research question, to finding articles, to using articles in a research project. The process of research is often more complex than students anticipate. Part of helping them succeed is making visible the steps in the research process and helping students recognize that each step will require them to employ different skills. This section of the Faculty Toolkit provides small, low-stakes activities that can be adapted and deployed throughout the semester to help students develop the skills and understanding needed to get them to the finish line: the research project! Students study aquatic organisms in relation to the environmental conditions of lakes and streams. The course develops substantial quantities of data concerning the local watershed. This data is used by community partners in many contexts.

This course on "Future Internet Opportunities" consists of 10 modules, which are related to the subject from technical, social and business perspectives.

Each module is available at introductory, basic and advanced levels.

This Instructor’s Guide contains the brief outlines of Chapters 12-21 as found in Concepts of Biology, though some underwent revision. This syllabus for an introductory course on critical theory, designed for students at Lehman College in Spring 2021, incorporates the works of Audre Lorde as a running touchstone throughout the semester. ENG 463/702, “Introduction to Critical Theory x The Audre Lorde Great Read,” was designed to provide students with an understanding of literary theory that could be implemented and practiced right away, enabling them to experience what it means to engage with public-facing humanities during a course-long semester on theory. This toolkit is designed to help you teach English 110 students at Queens College how to use library resources to research effectively. It is part of an ongoing, iterative effort, in collaboration with the English 110 coordinators, to create flexible materials that can be adapted to suit the specific needs of a variety of English 110 classes. It continues to be a work in progress. These materials are developed to provide templates for action and activity at various points throughout the library instruction sequence, as outlined below.

During the early days of the pandemic, Dr. Gina Rae Foster, Teaching & Learning Center Director at John Jay College of Criminal Justice wrote a series of emails to faculty to support and guide instructors in helping their students and in redesigning their courses in the midst of lockdowns and racial violence. This guide is intended to address multiple interests and needs: as an informal and partial teaching guide, as an edited historical artifact, as a developing set of perspectives on social justice, and as a reminder that our individual and collective wellbeing can be reciprocal and can be amplified.

This course is an introduction to the aspects of marine geology and oceanography that affect the environment and marine resources. Service-learning is an essential component of how students learn about the earth. We deliver part of the content of this course by arranging for students to solve a problem with a local community partner.
