As information technology advancements become more integral to health care, the demand for health care professionals who can employ and utilize health data is increasing. Health Informatics plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of consumer care, reducing health care costs and providing healthcare access in rural areas. Health Informatics specialty areas include electronic health records, health care insurance billing, telemedicine, and health care delivery systems, including laboratory and public health.The standards for the Health Informatics pathway and related courses apply to occupations and functions in health information systems and the delivery of healthcare. This syllabus for an introductory course on critical theory, designed for students at Lehman College in Spring 2021, incorporates the works of Audre Lorde as a running touchstone throughout the semester. ENG 463/702, “Introduction to Critical Theory x The Audre Lorde Great Read,” was designed to provide students with an understanding of literary theory that could be implemented and practiced right away, enabling them to experience what it means to engage with public-facing humanities during a course-long semester on theory. This lesson plan is designed to introduce students to three forms of government: presidentialism, parliamentarism, and semi-presidentialism. After briefly covering the key characteristics of each form, the lesson plan examines the process of government formation in parliamentary systems. The scenario covers different possible cabinet types and is designed to help students to distinguish between governments with a majority vs. minority status and to differentiate among different coalition arrangements—from minority to minimal winning to surplus to grand coalitions. The lesson plan concludes with an assignment that asks students to identify the current cabinet types in four countries that have parliamentary systems—Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Ireland.

This is a lesson plan specifically created for a HyFlex class: in-person, synchronous and asynchronous. It is geared for an introductory English composition course but can be modified for another as long as the licensing agreement for the included TED Talks are adhered to. This lesson plan uses two TED Talks as a springboard for students to discuss the topic of technology: technology and human connection. The course offers a History of Western music through the study of various complete works. Focus on the skills and perspectives needed for informed listening. There are three main topics to which this course provides an introduction: First, the sonic structure of music, apprehended through analytical listening. This is centrally concerned with the musical elements of rhythm, pitch, timbre, and dynamics, both for themselves as well as for the ways in which they are organized into melody, harmony, texture, form, and, ultimately, style and genre. Second, the history of the main genres and stylistic trends in the notated music of Europe and North America over the last millennium. Third, the interaction of music with its various contexts: social, religious, technological, performative, commercial, artistic, and intellectual.

User-friendly Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is the common thread of this collection of presentations, and activities with full lesson plans. The first section of the site contains an overview of cartography, the art of creating maps, and then looks at historical mapping platforms like Hypercities and Donald Rumsey Historical Mapping Project. In the next section Google Earth Desktop Pro is introduced, with lessons and activities on the basics of GE such as pins, paths, and kml files, as well as a more complex activity on "georeferencing" an historic map over Google Earth imagery.
