Course Description:
This class introduces students to unconventional photographic processes. Students will explore historic methods and materials that allow the extension of photographic imagery beyond the standard black and white or color print. The class will experiment with handmade emulsions and papers, incorporating photographic imagery into new and varied contexts such as drawings, paintings, and made books.

This assignment works toward developing students' competency in Inquiry and Problem Solving. The problem solving arises as they negotiate contradictory viewpoints about genres of American music, specifically related to topic areas covered in class (such as class, gender, identity, race, authenticity, and place).

This resource collocates open resources in American History to 1877, and organizes them by theme for all faculty teaching this course. It also provides students with links to books, essays, newspaper and journal databases offered at CUNY. Supplementing this material are images, audio and videos related to the period.

This assignment is on linear and exponential growth, which is connected to real life scenarios from students’ everyday life as well as teaches them financial responsibility and awareness of economic issues. Project has five parts. In part 1, students would use digital communication ability by creating a video about the topic from the knowledge they had prior to this project. In part 2 (the Mathematical part) they will use problem-solving and inquiry learning to better understand linear and exponential growth, in part 3 students will use global learning through reading to then annotate article and watch video to then discuss it with each other via group chat, in part 4 students will practice integrative learning by interview people, and in part 5 they will prepare reflection using digital/writing/oral communication ability in the format of their choice (record video, paper, oral presentation).

The medical humanities is a multidisciplinary field that embraces the study of medicine through the lenses of literature, history, philosophy, the social sciences, and the arts in the context of applied medicine and medical ethics. This presentation offers an overview of the developing concept of The Anthropocene -- a term coined to describe our current geological epoch, in which human impact on the planet will leave a permanent trace.

Students, particularly those who are non-science majors, often struggle with college-level science courses required for graduation due to the applied mathematics needed to successfully complete the course. This resource includes four activities on the topics of units and measurements, dimensional analysis, density, and gases. These topics were specifically designed to teach the mathematics embedded in these topics in a culturally responsive way. Throughout the activities, we incorporate these four elements of culturally relevant pedagogy (Ladson-Billings, 2009) in order to engage students in successfully solving basic mathematics in chemistry while promoting their interest in learning chemistry.

This two week assignment asks students to interpret and analyze the 1974 Arecibo Message sent by Drake and Sagan. Week 1 introduces the concepts behind the construction of the message and engages with a critical analysis of the architecture and the contents of the message. Week 2 asks students to develop software in a Jupyter Notebook (available for free from the Anaconda Python Distribution) to interpret messages that were similar to those produced by Drake and Sagan.

Arithmetic | Algebra provides a customized open-source textbook for the math developmental students at New York City College of Technology. The book consists of short chapters, addressing essential concepts necessary to successfully proceed to credit-level math courses. Each chapter provides several solved examples and one unsolved Exit Problem. Each chapter is also supplemented by its own WeBWork online homework assignment. The book can be used in conjunction with WeBWork for homework (online) or with the Arithmetic | Algebra Homework handbook (traditional).
